and the sign in which Mars is situated will give
some information as to how this personal will is
expressed (Aries: assertively, directly,

service to make improvements everywhere | Libra:
having the other decide | Scorpio: passionately

sacrificing). If Mars is Rx however, another
"Pisces/Aquarius" sauce is added to
it: the personal will is being introverted, it
will sooner do something to itself than to
others, and in general is much less assertive
(Pisces) and taking action against the normal
routines (Aquarius). Mars also deals with our
competitive urges, it is the will to conquer, it
is male sexuality, and also these are
introverted more in Mars Rx situations. Someone
told me once how he used to play with dolls when

went Direct again by progression: from that

Rx is softer, more gentle, less egotistic, which
of course in some cases can lead to problems all
of their own, if one's own will is not expressed
properly to the outside world.
In timeframes
where Mars is retrograde, one could expect that
all our activities are being under review; they
are periods where the intent is to ask ourselves
whether our will and activity is in accordance
with our inner knowing; maybe we went so fast
that a time for re-view is quite in order in
Mars Rx time frames. If our personal will would
be restrained in such periods it is quite
thinkable that such is exactly cosmic intent: to
attune ourselves again with the higher will of
the cosmos. But mostly we do so quite by itself.
In all cases you may expect a change in
activities shortly after Mars has turned
Retrograde and again, shortly after Mars has
turned Direct again. In the days just after Mars
has turned Direct again you will finda lot of
new initiatives surfacing all of a sudden which
were prepared during the Mars Rx phase. For 1999
this will be just after June 4.

date is the day on which Mars turns Direct. Days
of reversal are very powerful days, the more so
if in your own chart you have a planet on or
